Meals for Homebound Seniors

Grace Community Kitchen is looking for volunteers to help prepare and deliver hot meals to homebound seniors in the Springfield area. Many of these seniors live alone and struggle to prepare nutritious meals for themselves.

What You'll Do

Volunteers help with meal preparation in our commercial kitchen on Saturday mornings, then deliver meals along assigned routes. Each route takes about 1-2 hours and covers 8-12 homes.

Why It Matters

For many of our seniors, the meal delivery volunteer is the only person they see all week. You're not just bringing food—you're bringing connection, a smile, and a check-in that ensures they're safe and well.

Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation for delivery routes
• Background check required (we cover the cost)
• Commitment of at least 2 Saturdays per month preferred
• No cooking experience necessary—we'll teach you!
